Send Web to Kindle Privacy

Send Web to Kindle is designed to create readable EPUB files in your browser, without an app server receiving your article content.

Information Collection

Send Web to Kindle processes the active tab's web content locally on your device to generate EPUB files.

The extension requests access to your Google Identity, including your email address, solely to authenticate and send EPUB files to your Kindle through your Gmail account.

Data Usage

Article content is processed in your browser. It is not sent to an app server.

Your Kindle email address and extension preferences are stored locally in Chrome storage.

The current article is held temporarily in the browser session while you preview, download, or send the generated EPUB.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, trade, transfer, analyze, or store your personal information or article content on external servers.

If you choose to send an EPUB to Kindle, the generated file is sent through the Gmail API using the Google account you connected. This only happens after you trigger the send action.

Privacy and data

  • EPUB files are created fully locally in your browser.
  • Download EPUB works without login and saves the file directly to your computer.
  • Google sign-in is only required for sending EPUB files directly to Kindle through Gmail.
  • The extension only requests the Gmail gmail.send permission to send email with the EPUB attachment.
  • The extension does not read your Gmail inbox.
  • The extension does not collect, analyze, sell, or store your browsing history.
